![]() ![]() I am mostly talking about discussions, which could also be a Twitter thread of two or three tweets like shown in this video. ![]() Also, I am not talking about just literal debates. It's not about them anyway, it's about the viewers watching and/or listening. A debate is, like you said, likely not going to change much of the minds of the debaters. I didn't literally mean ''defeat'' as in ''Ha now you HAVE to change your mind muhaha'', but. personally attack someone, or he should just not respond at all and I personally think the latter is the best option for melon. If he chooses to respond to that, he should be civil i.o. To summarize a bit: when he responds to criticisms of his political views, it's full of personal attacks, ad hominem's and other fallacies like 1791 correctly stated in the video. I am saying that when he himself CHOOSES to respond to people who criticize that, he shouldn't just say shit like ''Why should I care about your criticism, you're just a fanboy in disguise looking for attention'' or shit like ''he is just a pussy, fuck him and his STUPID political opinions'' with no explanation at all, or ''there's no reason to dunk on conservatard nobody watches'', it makes him look very, very weak and intellectually dishonest. I am not saying he should literally start a whole discussion when stating his opinion. IM SIMPLY STATING THAT IS NOT THE POINT OF THIS DISCUSSION AND IT REALLY IS JUST ANOTHER FALLACY. I WILL STATE THIS AGAIN BUT IN CAPS LOCK THIS TIME: I AM WITH YOU GUYS, I DONT CARE ABOUT HIS POLITICAL OPINIONS. ''Who cares about his political opinions.'' is just another fallacy.Įdit: Downvoting doesnt help this conversation at all. I don't believe in fallacies and I certainly don't believe in following someones political view, just because he or she has a ''celebrity status''. It shows a lot of weakness.Īgain, I am a big fan of Anthony, but most of the time I simply disagree with his politics, just because of a weak or no argument at all or him not being able to start a civil political discourse with someone who challenges him. Instead of starting a civil discussion or even debate, Anthony throws with ad hominem's and personal attacks. The point is that every now and then he throws out a political opinion of his with an arguable argument on his Twitter or stream, (which a lot of people DO care about for some reason), and he will reject anyone who shows a simple counter argument. I really love my Melon, but man, that is not the point. ![]()
